“Proud Protector” Original Oil Paintings

"Proud Protector I” and “Proud Protector II”, original artworks by professional artist Shelly Miller, both feature the majestic eagle, symbol of American pride and freedom. Palette knives were used to apply thick and textured oil paint mixed with cold wax medium on cradled wood panels to create fascinating patterns and movement in both coordinating pieces.

“Proud Protector I” shows the eagle looking up at the infamous first words of the US Constitution as he vows to protect “We The People” from all harm. In “Proud Protector II”, the eagle is shown in a fierce pose with a 1776 American flag backdrop, which motivates the never-ending fight for freedom.
